Pinhole photography is an escape.

An escape from the demands of the incredible technology of photographic equipment today.

Within pinhole photography we return to the simplicity in photography. This uncomplicated beauty is what attracted me to the art of photography in the first place. Now, I escape to this elementary place whenever I can. I run from my computer, scanner, Nikons and Hassleblads to this mysterious and enchanted world of the pinhole and photography. For me, it is a way of meditating, of centering myself and my love of imagery.

The attractiveness of the pinhole camera's form and charm of approach lead undeniably towards an uncomplicated corroboration between camera and subject. The learned disciplines of the pinhole camera lead to a mysterious quality photograph. From light falloff to infinite depth of field and long exposures, the image's presence is almost eerie in its aberration from traditional photographic processes. The sacred beauty of these ancient places I have photographed can scarcely be translated, but perhaps their intrigue may be visually interpreted through the pinhole photography.

I hope you enjoy your own escape while viewing these images of New Mexico.
